I.T Action 21‧Short Video Competition

With ‘I.T IS INSPIRATION’ as the concept, I.T has been a local trendsetter and endeavors to support and inspire creativity and originality. This summer I.T presents ‘I.T ACTION 21’ Short Film Competition, providing a platform for creative talents. The competition’s theme is ‘21’, and welcomes participants of any age to upload a short film between 21 seconds to 1 minute in length. 50 finalists will be elected from an online voting before 5 professional jurors – Joel Chu, Jan Lamb, Winnie Yu, Felix Chong Man-keung, and Andrew Lau Wai-keung ,– select the winner amongst the 50 films. The champion will be awarded cash and prizes worth up to HKD$210,000.

Competition Instructions

Theme of Competition: 21
Specifications of Submission: a short film from 21 seconds to 60 seconds in length
Format of Submission: Any avi, mpeg, wmv, 3gp, mpg, mp4, mov or gif not more than 30MB in size
Date of Online Submission: From 00:01 on 5th August, 2009, to 23:59 on 7th September, 2009
The number of submissions of an individual applicant is not restricted, but is bound by all competition instructions and conditions. No publication and evaluation will be given for any violation.

Jury

The competition results will be decided in the two sections hereinafter:

In the first round, an online voting will elect 50 most-voted short films (the 50 works receiving the highest number of golden tokens)

In the second round, 5 professional jurors –Joel Chu, Jan Lamb, Winnie Yu, Felix Chong Man-keung, and Andrew Lau Wai-keung – select the winner amongst the 50 films. The process of vetting divides into two sections hereinafter:
First-round Vetting: Each juror selects one favourite short film (maximum 5 films in total are to be selected by the 5 jurors)
Second-round Vetting: Each juror will score the maximum 5 selected films from 1 to 5 (5 as the highest; 1 the lowest). The submission with the highest total score will be the winner.

Prize

The champion will receive prizes in total value HKD$210,000:
HKD$100,000 in cash and cash coupons of HKD$110,000 issued by I.T Group.

Announcement of Competition Results

1)	Results of the online voting, which will select 50 finalists with the highest numbers of votes (golden tokens) will be announced on the website on 15th September, 2009.
2)	The champion will be announced on the official website of I.T (www.ithk.com) on 21st September 2009. The champion will receive the notification separately by telephone and email.

Voting Instructions

Voting Date: From 00:01 on 5th August, 2009 to 23:59 on 14th September, 2009

-	All voters must register on this website and can only register once with one valid email address and contact number. An individual voter can register with more than one valid email address and contact number for multiple voting quotas.
-	After registration, each voter will receive 21 golden tokens, which the voter can place to the favourite works, 5 tokens for the highest, 1 for the lowest. Each voter is not allowed to insert more than 5 tokens for each work.
-	An individual voter can vote or log in to vote for multiple times until the 21 tokens are used or expired. Each work could only be voted for once. Voters cannot alter the number of tokens after the completion of voting.
-	The voting results will be updated in regular intervals.

Voting Results

First Round:	Every day between 5th August and 14th September, the computer system will randomly select two winners. Each winner will be given a cash coupon of HKD$210 issued by I.T Group. The list of winners will be announced in the ‘Latest News’ on the website on next day, alongside direct notifications to winners by phone and email.
Second Round:	Upon the full usage of the 21 golden tokens, the voters will enter the second-round ultimate lucky draw, which will select in total 10 winners. Each winner will be given cash coupons of total HKD$2,100 issued by I.T Group. The list of winners will be announced on the official website of I.T (www.ithk.com) on 21st September, 2009, alongside direct notifications to winners by phone and email.
